What is RSS?
RSS stands for ‘Really Simple Syndication’. RSS feeds allow you to identify the content you want and have it delivered directly to your computer whilst connected to the Internet.
RSS-aware software on your computer can check your designated feeds for changes and alert you that a site you are interested in has been updated. The RSS software saves you from visiting the site and allows you to stay updated very easily.
How do I start using RSS feeds?
To start using RSS feeds you will need a news reader. There are many different versions, some browsers (Firefox) are capable of using RSS and some of which are downloadable applications. All allow you to display and subscribe to the RSS feeds you want. You can download an RSS News Reader by clicking this link.
Once you have selected a news reader, all you have to do is to decide what content you want. If you click on the button you can subscribe to the feed in various ways, including by dragging the URL (address) of the RSS feed into your news reader or by cutting and pasting the same URL (address) into a new feed in your news reader.
